PostHeaderIcon ICF

ICF refers to INTI Christian Fellowship.
They had the first meeting for this semester last night and I was there too=) After songs and games, we were split into care groups, and which I'm in Vincent's group with Vivian, Wilson, Joan, Marcus, Johny, Eveline, Fang Chyuan and Alex. Nice ppl, hope to get to know them better over time. Carl invited and I had supper with the cfs at ETC. Felt kinda out of place at first cause I dont really know them but it was still ok. I was glad to go, met new friends but I had a hard remembering all their names...

My notebook wasnt functioning properly last night. I thought spoilt.. U. Aylwin said it didnt "sleep well".... phew, it's ok now=)

Sometimes things happen in our lives but we really cant tell or explain why it happens. Just trust that God knows best for us and he will never give us challenges that we cannot cope with. Saying is definity easy but when you're in someone's shoes who's experiencing smthg unpleasant, it's just hard to comfort the person... All I can do is pray...

God will and can do miracles.. Amen.

PostHeaderIcon Reflections

Reflection...
When you reflect back on the week, how did you spend your week? Have you accomplished much this week?

It was a great week for me, it really was and I enjoyed every moment of it. I felt really blessed and it has indeed strengthen my faith in God. He is amazing and I thank Him for the wonderful people and things He has blessed me with. Often we take things for granted but when you stop to pause for a moment, you will see that there's so many beautiful and wonderful people and things around you. I did worry about meeting new ppl but God provided for me!!! He provided nice friends for me, my roommate, Jia Li, Ruth, The Chans, my coursemate.... and most importantly, a church I enjoy attending=) Of course I have wonderful friends back home too=) You just have to put your trust and faith in Him, and God will work wonders in your life!!

I went to Seremban yesterday to meet up with A. Mimi. She fed me with lots of food...lol... I attended her church service this morning, at White Fields Assembly. The sermon was good, it was about personal evangelism. An important issue but often we hardly do much about it. Ask yourself and think about it. We often rank praying as most important, then rI'leading the bible, worship, mission and lastly, evangelism.

I've spent my weekend eating...eat eat eat... but I'm happy...haha.. Oh, the beef noodles at the Seremban market is good, real good!! And now, it's time to hit my books and finish my homework. Iggy just told me not to pill my homework, it's unforgiving. Wow, I mean it's from Ignatius la... I'll get them done by Wednesday ;)

I'll end with a nice verse from Isaiah 40:31,
'But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They'll soar on wings like eagles. They'll run and not grow weary. They'll walk and not faint.'

PostHeaderIcon African Sunday

'African Sunday'

Today's theme is African Sunday. It was great and awesome. I do not know what's the singer's name but he has a really nice voice. There were a lot of dancing and clapping. It was a wonderful experience to listen to them sing in their mother tongue.
African food was served for lunch. There were Ugali, rice, some toppings and curry chicken and beef. The Ugali, (i have no idea how it's spelt) is some kind of bread, more of wheat and flour and it's extremely filling. The curry chicken and beef was really spicy..hot hot..

This church has a lot of international students. Despite hailing from various countries, we gather together every Sunday to worship God. This morning's preacher described it as "our love for God".. It is indeed very overwhelming to see so many students, young ppl to come as one to worship Him. However, one sad thing is that there are much more guys than girls. I'm glad to know Ruth, she's a really nice girl=)

It's a another happy day...=) =) =)

Last night, Jia Li went to set up a maze, it's an activity that the Adventure Club is organinzing. She left at 10smthg and guess what time did she came back this morning? 10am!!! That means she had been sticking newspapers for almost 12 hours and that's half a day!!!! Poor her but at least she was happy when she got back=) When I woke up at 7smthg, I didnt see her in her bed and I thought she had forgotten to bring her keys and I had locked her out for the night..phew, good thing I didnt...

Bad bad bad, I'm getting lazy. A Mac notebook is definitely different when compared to Microsoft. I couldnt open some files but I'm wasnt in a mood of exploring every singly application in this notebook yesterday. However, I discovered that Pages can be used for writing templates, which I couldnt find in Word. Who has a Mac here?? I want someone to tell me more, although U.Aylwin has gone through the basics with me....

Last night I plugged my pendrive in a USB port but it didnt seem to be recognized and I felt lost. Then Louis called and asked how is the Mac? Then I told him I'm still a bit blur and he laughed and told me to use the other port...and it was fine..i'm so cacat la... But i'm glad he called...hehe...
God is amazing at all times. Some ppl may think it's just a coincidence but I believe that God understands and He will provide for me=)

There are more and more students in my class, my CSC lecturer said the number has already exceeded 60. That means most likely the class will have to be split in half. But I dont want to change my timetable again, it's been four times already!!! And I like my current timetable. I was talking to some classmates yesterday and one of them said in Mandarin," I think it's very 'xin ku' for you to speak in Mandarin." I dont think my Mandarin is that cacat la...=_='

I didnt have class this afternoon and I wanted to sleep but I thought I'll take a nap after my roommate left for class at 4pm. Around 3pm, she said she was tired and wanted to take a nap. I was so happy to hear that and I rushed to switch off the lights and we went to sleep. So silly huh?? lols

It's Shu ai's birthday today. Happy Birthday!!! Shu ai is a really sweet girl and I'm really glad to know her=)

PostHeaderIcon Out again

When I was out with Isabel and Hui Yi at Mid Valley today, I saw something interesting that caught my attention.
This was writen on a T-shirt of a Malay, "Jesus Christ said, Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Al-quran 5:72 When I saw it, I was puzzled. Allah here, refers to the Muslim's Allah or ?? Because, in BM, they refer Our Lord as Allah too. Very confusing, I guess someone would need to read the Koran to tell me that...

I watched Spiderman with Carey and his friend, CY today. Heard a number of reviews that it's just ok, and yea, I think it's just ok=) I just didnt expect Harry to die at the end.

I met up with Adrian after the movie and went for some food at Kim Gary with Carey and CY. It's been ages since I last met Adrian and guess what did he say when he saw me.
Me : Hi.
Adrian : Hi. You're still as loud as before. Didnt change much.
Me : ....
We took quite some time to eat so I didnt have much time or shopping after that. I learnt something today, if you want to shop, DO NOT meet up with friends.. Although I am very tired today, I had a good time with them.

As I'm blogging here, I must say that I am grateful for all the friends God has placed in my life. Although I tend to compare the friends I have with friends my friends have, I am still thankful for all my friends, especially those who knows who you are. Thank you too to U.Aylwin for lending me this notebook. Really feels blessed for all I have=)

PostHeaderIcon Chivalry

"Is Chivalry dead or alive??"

Chivalry is an act of gentlemanliness or courtesy. There was an issue regarding chivalry in TODAY's paper for this week.

The article featured a number of scenarios where a lady with a wounded arm dropped a stack of newspapers and needed help to pull her suitcase. Out of the 6 scenarios, the highest score was 50%, which meant 2 out of 4 person who walked pass helped the lady.

Now, that's not too good, isnt it? While reading this article, someone popped up in my mind. Someone who's a gentleman, well, at least to me....
Jeng jeng jeng--->Edmond Teo

Of course there are other gentlemen out there, like Wui Sen and Sam. Guys after God's heart!! So girls, dont be despaired....

To me, a chivalric guy portrays a good image of himself. It is an appealing factor, but it should be genuine and comes from the heart and not to please others. On the other hand, I think girls tend to expect that guys should be chivalric when they themselves are not. All of us should be courteous and live a life with values and principles. God bless=)

PostHeaderIcon cold cold cold.....

It was raining when I got up this morning. Thank God for the rain as it has been super hot for the past few days=) I really do not like the mattress here. Hope they change it by this week. There's been aches and sores all over my body, ever since I got here=( I miss my bed!!!

The rain continued till noon and the weather turned so cool and cold....
I had class at 8am but the lecturer was on sick leave. Woke up so early and was "fang fei ji"....
I've not made myself remember the buildings yet and I met another dead end today. Malu.. coz someone saw me this time....hahaa...

This week has been rather free but I hope I'll be busier next week. Staying in the hostel in the middle of no where like nilai can be quite boring!!! Like what Carey said, it is a bit like a desert. oh well, I'm here to study, not to have fun....

PostHeaderIcon My first lecture

My class started at 10 yesterday morning. There were around 25 ppl in my class but the lecturer said she's expecting more students. As it was my first time around the academic blocks, I sort of got lost and had to ask how to get to the Com Lab...hehe....It's a distance from the hostel to the academic blocks, good to train my leg muscles.. How I miss wenzi now, no one to walk to the classrooms with me..=(

I'm taking 5 subjects this semester, Foundations of Financial Accounting, Advanced Microsoft Office Skills, Introduction to Microeconomics, English for Business Study and Introduction to Quantitative Methods. Attended 3 of the 5 lectures already..

More than half of my coursemates are from Johor, who took UEC last year. I'm the only one from East Malaysia and there's a Vietnamese man.(he's already 25) The rest are from West Malaysia. Feels kinda out of place but at least I got to know Yu Har, from Seremban and Ramesa, from Ipoh, Perak and Kim, the Vietnamese man.
Hi ppl, I'm sorry because there wasnt any connection here for the past 2 days.
I reached my hostel on sat and I unpacked my stuff after cleaning my room. The room isnt too big or small, just nice for 2 person=)

6 May 2007

It rained in the morning when I went to take the bus to the KTM station. Thank God that there was a girl from INTI too who sat with me in the train and told me about the KTM system and the bus routes.

I went to Mid Valley to meet Linda and Carey and I needed to buy some stuff too. Carey didnt want to help me to carry my stuff and I said he doesnt sayang me anymore....hehehe..but he did la...Thanks a lot=) It was nice shopping with the two of them.. I was happy to be with two of my good friends that day.

When I got back to the hostel, I finally got to know my roomate. Her name is Christiani Chen Jia Li. She's a petite and quiet Indonesian chinese. We had a good talk that night before we went to bed. I like her=)

I received a phone call from Mrs. Chan in the evening. She's the person that U.Rodney mentioned who takes some students to the church at Nilai. I had dinner with her and her family and some other ppl. They are friendly and I had a good time with them. I'm looking forward to attend their service this sunday.

PostHeaderIcon True or false

Just to let all of u know, I'm in KL now, writing this from my cousin's place. I'll only be going to INTI tmr morning and I'll be staying in the hostel.

I came here with my aunty. She comes to attend a church service here, which is the mother church of her church back home. Usually she takes turn with my uncle and they come over once a month but some of the Although I do not agree with some of the practises of the church, but I really admire their zeal to come all the way from Kch listen to their pastor's preachings. Some of the church members come over to KL every week!!! Although they use AirAsia, that still isnt cheap. One thing, she mentioned:" Our God". I thought if we believe in God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, we only have one God, the one and only living God. She told me that the Holy Spirit preaches through their pastor and the pastor doesnt even know what he is saying. She claims that the pastor has revealed a lot of truth to them.

It is indeed a very sentitive issue and it reminded me about Jesus telling his disciples to be aware of false teachings... Something to ponder about today. I must admit that I lack the zeal my aunty has and even the zeal of the longhouse folks. They are so eager and passionate to listen to God's word. I must do smthg about it!!! I think I take it for granted as church isnt that far away.

Now i'm sitting in front of the notebook and there's a full moon in outside the window. And it's so windy tonight=) It's even cooler than Kch...hahaha... I just hope the connection at my hostel will be as fast as the one I'm using at my cousin's house=) Ciaoz

PostHeaderIcon Day before I left

I spent yesterday, the day before I left like this...

I only started packing yesterday and my mummy said i'm so last minute. But to me, I'm only going to KL, it's not like I'm going to NZ or Aussie, if I didnt bring anything, I can still just buy it without having to think twice due to the currency exchange...hehehe..

I was supposed to have lunch with Claire and wenzi at cili pepper but wenzi read it as cili padi. It would only take the most 5 minutes from my place to cili pepper and maybe say 8 to 10 mintues to cili padi but it took me more than half an hour to get there!!! There was a car accident and after half an hour of releasing and stepping on the clush pedal, I couldnt even feel my left feet!!

Had dinner with gong gong, mah mah, yi yi and ah chiek's family at night. Then we went to Xiao Qing's house. I was so kek tiok cause she was supposed to come back yesterday but then her lecturer gave her an exam so she came back today. The best part, her hols will be for 2 months, arghhhh....just so kek sim!!! oh well, I'll meet in somewhere in July then...

Zheng hua called me when i got home and I said smthg that hurt him a lot!!! I'm so sorry but I really forgotten to call him before I left. I only remembered to call his bro....hahaha...he was a bit kecil hati I think.... I hung up soon cause a friend came over and ah ku and ah kim too. And I forgot to call him today too....gosh, I'm so terrible!!! But I called Shing in the evening yesterday=)

Gary asked me to go out with the rest at nite but I reached there half an hour late, cause my uncle and aunty ( ah ku and ah kim) came over. But he was so bad too, didnt help me when I needed him help...hmmp....Didnt let me go to his house to see his new rabbit too....:(

PostHeaderIcon energy consuming day

I'm so tired today!!! The youths had an outing to Mount Singai and Wind Cave. Mount Singai is a hill where a Catholic church is situated at the top. There were many many steps to reach to the top. And me, who hardly exercise, was exhausted when I got to the top, partly because I slept late the night before.... I met Ju Loong on the way to the up....

After Mount Singai, we went to Wind Cave and the cool air made it worth all the walking....hehe... Uncle Malcom took us to Pejiru Cafe where we had pork and tortoise meat and other dishes. When i'm tired and hungry, I do not like to talk and all I'll do is eat. U. Aylwin asked why: " Why are you so quiet today? Didnt even hear my voice." I was just to tired to talk..

Claire and Joanna's Birthday!!!

It was Claire's and Joanna's birthday yesterday and we went to Memories at Padungan. Bad traffic... I made them a cake, but it didnt look too good...hehehe..

May, me and wenzi....

The the bday girls....
