PostHeaderIcon Last week of semester

I feel that this semester has gone just like the wind.. Didnt expect it to go by so quickly like this. It's less than 3 months since I got here and now, it's the last week before I have my Christmas holidays.

Everytime when my semester ends, I tend to ask myself what have I done or achieved this semester? hmmm... I have to admit that I'm behind in certain subjects and I hope I'll be determined to catch up this Christmas break.

Had a Malaysian Mealtime with the Hall group 3 Mondays ago. 50+ ppl turned up and it was good=)

Attend the Christian Union Houseparty 2 weekends ago. We went to Hebron Hall at Dinas Powys and it's like a mini resort, with dorms, activity halls and rooms. There was even an indoor swimming pool and basketball court there. The theme for the weekend was about Holiness. Reuben from North Ireland shared the message for 4 sessions.
I like the point when he said, we should pursue holiness and not just turn away from evil. If you turn away but turn back to see what's behind, evil will still be there.. Thus, flee from evil and pursue holiness.

There were around 130 ppl there.

PostHeaderIcon Malaysian Mealtime

Monday was such a busy day to me... Had to submit my Law of Banking, Commerce and Investment essay. Glad it's over now.
Was looking forward to Monday night. Hall group had the 2nd Go Week. We voted and went with Malaysian Dinner. I invited my housemates and 3 of them went with me. Martina would have gone too, if she didnt have Russian class that night. To be honest, I was a bit doubtful when i invited them but I was really excited when they said yes.

I didnt help cause I had my essay to finish during the weekend and the Malaysian Leadership Conference was on the previous weekend too... Hannah Iqbal and Owen helped cook. Three of them cooked for 51 person. 51 - 22? = 20++ friends.. Pretty exciting evening=) Hope they went home pondering on the short message Mark and Tony shared.

Would be away for Houseparty with CU this weekend. Quite excited about it:)

I need sleep..

PostHeaderIcon Update

It's the 1st of November today. Means that there's only 2 more months left for the year. Jan 2008 seemed like just a few months ago...
Asked myself this morning, have I achieved anything this year?

Had a 'happening' week. Internet was disconnected, forgotten my pin number and now, landlord problems. But amazingly, I didnt feel very troubled about it. Am very sure God would make things work out in His time=)

Been spending more time with my housemates this week. Kinda like that cause I felt that I've always been out during my first two weeks that Astrid would shake her head whenever I say I'm going out again and Carolyn even commented, Are you staying here? I dont know you!
Went to watch fireworks with Carolyn and Martina just now. To watch it from the park, it would cost you 7 quid. Too exp for me, so Martina and I just watched from the bridge nearby..hehe.. Well, it's the same after a few minutes..

It's been very cold lately. Just a mere 5 degrees celsius during the day and it went to 0 at night this week.
Winter's coming...quite early this year...

Academic wise, can feel that work is pilling up. One chapter a day for a module, quite a lot to me. Loads more to study as compared to Malaysia. We're expected to do a lot of reading by ourselves. Plus, with the current economic slowdown and banks going bust, lots to read. Only feel that I cant seem to understand Financial Accounting. Tax is nice and I enjoy it (:

There's still Bing from China but havent took any pics with her yet.
Carolyn and Astrid are from Germany and Martina's from Italy.
I cooked curry last week and Martina loved it.. Our common ground, cooking cause both of us cook and eat a lot...lol

At Khareeza's on wed. She cooked curry

Take care friends

PostHeaderIcon Week 2

It's been 2 weeks in Cardiff and it feels like I've already been here longer than 2 weeks..

Classes commenced last Monday and the timetable here is quite different from home. I have the same class at different times on the same day. And tutorials = seminars are quite messy, some alternate weeks and some every week. Just hope that I dont miss any seminars..lol
I was reading through my handbook and saw my semester dates
Autumn Sem 29 September 2008 - 25 January 2009
But Christmas Hol 13 December 2008 - 4 Jan 2009
and Exam Period 12 Jan 2009 - 23 Jan 2009

Then Spring Sem 26 Jan 2009 - 12 June 2009
With Easter Hols 28 March 2009 - 19 April 2009
and Exam Period 11 May 2009 - 12 June 2009

Maybe my exams wouldnt be so long, but if you calculate it, days of attending Uni is less than 6 months!! That's quite unproductive...:p

Been settling down well and kinda getting used to the weather now too.. Sun and rain all the time.. Sometimes it's not that cold and sometimes it's freezing cold..

I'm thankful that there are many churches around, so many that it'ld take a long time if I want to attend every single service. Been attending Highfields so far though.. Christian Union (CU) here is quite big and there's lots of activities going on too. Just feel that 200 is quite a big number and would prefer house group.
And I'm a very satisfied Lloyds customer=) My bank account process was smooth and good...

Attended the Malaysian Student Society of Cardiff Uni's welcome dinner last Saturday and met a lot of Msians too. Majority doing law and it's a spread of other courses.

Going to Cardiff Bay tmr, heard it's the nicest place in Cardiff, cause it's new. Will experience that in the afternoon.

Will update soon with pics=)

Take care

Cheers
